Here I am with host Stacey Baca after we transformed a T-shirt bright and early on “Saturday Morning” ABC 7 News in Chicago. Favorite color red, anyone? And there are the projects in a teaser on the nearby TV monitor. Next stop Austin, TX. Stay tuned…

Megan, I love that Pinup Girl halter top, because it’s really easy, and it looks good on pretty much any figure. So, I bought your second book today, and now I’m really excited to get started making all those cool projects. 🙂 I also really liked the sexy librarian shirt and the kimono and tunic tops, and just in general, I appreciated the way you made the second book more accessible to people of all sizes.
I love the Pinup Girl halter, too — it IS super easy, and the transformation is sort of unexpected! I’m glad you noticed that sizing is addressed a little differently in the new book. Beyond S, M, L, XL, there’s also consideration of fit: “regular,” “fitted,” and “baggy.” My editor and I worked really hard to make it as accessible as possible!
Actually, it’s funny that you’d mention that–I kind of wish I’d waited until after buying the second book to start scissoring away–I kind of made a mess of the Rollover top, because I suspect that that’s more of a “skinny girl” project, and meanwhile, my bright red band T-shirt from high school would have made a perfect pinup halter. Oh, and yes, I do appreciate “regular, fitted, and baggy” as opposed to S, M, L, XL, because not everybody fits into a small.
